Have you ever felt any of the following?

  • Vague, disoriented, lost or disconnected from life?
  • Spaced out, especially when doing meditation or other forms of spiritual connection.
  • Full of ideas but either can’t make a decision or can’t follow anything through from concept to completion.
  • Don’t hold healings, or chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture treatments etc for more than a few hours before the good results all dissipate.
  • Feel like you are exhausted even after a good night’s sleep.
  • Slow to heal.
  • Can’t seem to work out who you are or what you want.
  • Don’t know what your life path is.

If you answered yes to any of the above symptoms, you could be experiencing blocked foot chakras.

This Chakra relates to your ability to connect with the earth, to stay grounded and to receive the earth’s energy. They help channel energies downward into the earth and allow the earth’s energy to travel through your body. Open foot chakras give you the ability to receive wisdom and guidance and to facilitate the connection between the earth and your body rhythms and life-force energy.

On the underside of your foot, in your instep, is a large energy centre known as your foot chakra. This chakra works strongly to earth your base chakra. When the chakra is open, activated and grounded it also helps balance and energize all other chakras in the body.

These simple steps can help you to unblock and activate the chakras in your feet. Enjoy your practice.

Foot Chakra Exercise

The purpose of this exercise: to strengthen the energetic connection between your upper body and your feet and strengthen the connection between your feet and the ground. The purpose is to energize and stabilize your relationship to your physical foundation which affects your ability to stand and walk as well as other foundational elements of your life. If you often feel a sense of no purpose, don’t know your path or directions, a sense of being lost and unable to go forward you probably have a weak or closed foot chakra. You can do this exercise with shoes on, but if possible bare feet or just socks on the ground is even more effective.

Exercise:

Focus on your feet. Feel or imagine the energy of the Earth below your feet, keeping you grounded and "plugged in" to the Earth. Really immerse yourself in that connection. Now, on a one-to-ten scale, how connected physically or emotionally do you feel to your feet? How active is that connection? One means you feel no connection at all. If so, you might find yourself having issues with money, health and relationships. Your feet are the foundation of your being.
Ten means the connection is strong and wide open, however aiming for a ten is pretty difficult and most are not able to do so. You want to feel the highest connection you can, whatever that number is, and over time, as you practice, your number should go up.

The first step, is simply to look at your feet. Walk around town, or walk around the house. If you aren’t able to walk, you can simply sit and look at your feet. If sitting, make sure your feet are flat on the ground. Look at your feet and focus your energy on them. This is literally the easiest technique you'll ever encounter. It takes no special time commitment and no special equipment, and minimal effort is required. Just look down, focus on your feet as you walk or sit, and you'll automatically direct energy towards your feet. It's so simple, but powerful. You will begin to feel more grounded, calm and centered. To help aid the flow of energy, try creating a visual image for yourself. Your eyes direct the energy to where you want it, so picture the energy as it flows from your eyes to your feet; what does it look like, what color is it?

Imagine how your feet would look when receiving that energy. It's like a warm beam of light shining out of your eyes and falling on your glowing feet. Use this visualization while walking (or sitting if you can’t walk) to stimulate your awareness of your feet.

After doing that, here’s another piece to optionally add, which also requires some visualization.

Stretch your arms out straight to your sides (left and right) and imagine tracing an energy circle of that circumference on the ground around you. That is ultimately how large this energy circle of your feet can be. Picture that circle now. At first it might be hard to imagine a circle that large, but however large you can imagine it, just imagine the outline of that energy circle and then imagine pushing it outwards. Make it bigger. Expand the boundary. At first you may find that you can’t make it bigger or it snaps back to smaller, but keep practicing daily and pretty soon it will be easier. Let it grow and encompass more of the ground you stand on.

Now imagine that this entire area fills with energy, like red-hot lava or beams of light rising up from the Earth. Focus on drawing that energy into your body. Picture it swirling towards you, entering your body through your feet. Before long, you should feel warmth in your feet, and a growing sense of purpose. The connection to your feet and the ground is growing stronger.

Now try and imagine a glowing cord, starting at your feet and stretching far into the distance, keeping your life on course. Our feet are our true foundation in the physical. When your feet are not grounded you may feel overwhelmed, and your energies become scattered. You need to focus on your feet in order for energy to begin moving again, so that you can become grounded by the connected flow of energy between your feet and the Earth.

You should practice this every day ideally for about 20-30 minutes a day. You can break your practice up into 10-15 minutes twice a day. In addition, any time throughout the day, if you happen to think of your feet just focus for a few minutes on them, sending healing energy from your eyes to your feet. By doing this at least daily you are keeping the energy of your feet and the Earth connected. It helps ground you. The more you practice the more results you will see demonstrated in your life.
